Madison Table Works was the sister company to Rembrandt’s Gallery & Wine Bar.

Both businesses resided in the same building. Madison Table Works specialized in making handcrafted wooden tables.

I worked for Madison Table Works for over 12 years. I designed the original Web 1.0 website, back before I had any experience actually designing websites – and it showed! (It featured white text on a black background, something I immediately learned in design school was a no-no.) It was a static portfolio site.

When I re-designed the website, I included e-commerce functionality and a much-needed updated look. I decided to stick with the black and white theme, but make the interface much brighter and cleaner than the old one. Accents of burnt orange liven up the page and hint at the natural colors of the wood tables.

The new e-commerce store (built with WooCommerce) allowed the user to choose a top and a base to create a one-of-a-kind table. Madison Table Works had recently teamed up with Knox Deco to offer industrial-inspired metal bases to add to their unique wooden tops.

The product page gave the viewer an example of the table in a room setting, several views of the top and base, a Javascript zoom feature to look at the product close up, and additional information about it. Other recommended products were also listed on the product page.
