Soup, Stew, Chili, and Brew
Every autumn, my hometown’s Chamber of Commerce closes down Main Street for a festival called the Soup, Stew, Chili, and Brew. Businesses and residents alike set up booths featuring their best fall recipes – everything from pumpkin soup to caramel apple lattes – to show the community what they’ve got and hopefully bring home their category’s grand prize.
This promotional poster was created for the Chamber of Commerce to display in the local store windows and other places around town. I wanted to invoke a sense of eating warm chili on a crisp fall day. I used Adobe Photoshop CC to make the photomontage featuring the chili, an espresso maker pouring out hot coffee, and a picnic tablecloth (to hint at eating outside). I then created a title with a steam effect to reinforce the theme of warmth in a cool environment.
